- Elizabeth "Betty" Burns, age 78, Appleton, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Heartwood Homes Senior Living. She was born on November 17, 1934, in Appleton, to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Lawall) Baumann. Betty married Eugene Weyers, May 30, 1955, and he preceded her in death November 19, 1996. She then married Russell Burns on February 8, 2003. Betty was a member at Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly and was actively involved in numerous ministries at church.
Betty is survived by her husband, Russell Burns; her children: Jeanne (Paul) Gjerald, Lee (Lois) Weyers, Ken (Susan) Weyers, Gary (Deborah) Weyers, Lori (John) Hein; her grandchildren: Gregory Tesch, Erin, Amy and John Weyers, Thomas, Matthew and Peter Weyers, Tim Weyers, Carl and Eric Hein; a sister, Marie Bushman; step-children: Katherine Rowell, Patricia (Steve) Wolfgram, Jane (Tim) Heenan, Gregory (Layne) Burns; sisters-in-law: Jean Baumann, Marion Baumann, Clara Baumann, Eileen Baumann, Waneta (Ron) Van Boxtel; brothers-in-law: Wayne Weyers, Merlin (Anita) Weyers. Betty is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Weyers; her sons: John and Joseph Weyers; brothers: George, Joseph (Jeanette), Nicholas, Raymond (Virginia), Clem, Henry, Claire (Leona) and Carl; sisters: Marie Therese, Gertrude (Emmett) Decker and Blanche (Dick) Strelka.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 21, 2013, at Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Name Church, 600 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, with Fr. David Beaudry officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Name Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Betty's name.
