Age 85, died Thursday, May 16, 1991. She was born May 28, 1905 in the Town of Vandenbroek. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna [Menting] Van Gompel. She married the late John Johnson in 1923, who preceded her in death in 1956. She married Leo Powless in 1960, he preceded her in death in 1969. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the Little Chute Golden Agers.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dalores and Lloyd Moser, Freedom; four sisters, Catherine [Ervin] Johnson, Manitowoc; Theresa [Clarence] Dietzen, Appleton; Leone Van Gompel, Appleton; Germaine [Marvin] Smith, Appleton; two sisters in-law, Florence [Willard] Van Gompel, Appleton; Marcia [Frank] Kabas, Green Bay; three grandchildren, Michael and Betty Moser, Freedom; Jeffrey and Donna Moser, Sheboygan Falls; 11 great grandchildren;
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Willard, Omar; two sisters, Clara Thurber and Helen Heckel.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday from St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4:30 - 8:30 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. There will be a parish prayer service at 8 P.m. Friday.
