      Verhagen, Margaret A. Marge Verhagen, "Marge", Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at St. Paul Elder Services early on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. She was 93. Marge was born in Freedom on June 10, 1913, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Vande Hey) Coffey. On August 16, 1934, she was united in marriage to Ben Verhagen at St. Nicholas Church in Freedom. Ben preceded her in death in 2001. Marge was a graduate of Freedom High School, and was a lifelong and faithful member of Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna.

      She is survived by two daughters: Mary (John) O'Neill, Houston; Margaret Guilfoyle, Appleton; four sons: Jack (Lorraine) Verhagen, Dallas; Don (Kitty) Verhagen, Kaukauna; Bob (Marcia) Verhagen, Dallas, and Dick (Karen) Verhagen, Madison; nineteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; a former daughter-in-law, Nancy (Glenn) Wintrode, St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters-in-law: Marie Coffey, Appleton; Millie (Erv) DeBruin, Kimberly; three brothers-in-law: Rich (Monnie) Verhagen, Kaukauna; Ves (Min) Verhagen, Kimberly; and Rev. Norbert Verhagen, MM of New York.

      Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben in 2001, a son Bud Verhagen in 2002, all of her brothers and sisters, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

      The funeral liturgy will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Martin Fox officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 3 p.m. until the hour of the services. A memorial fund has been established in Marge's name at St. Paul Elder Services.

      The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of St. Paul Elder Services. We will always remember your care, love, and compassion. Thank you so very much for taking such excellent care of Mother.
