- Appleton - Nancy L. Stinski, age 81, of Appleton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, following a short illness. Nancy was born in Black Creek on May 23, 1956 to the late Herbert and Mareena (DeNoble) Bloedorn. On June 23, 1956, she was united in marriage to Richard Stinski at St Mary Catholic Church, Black Creek. The couple enjoyed 45 years together until Richard's passing in 2001. Nancy worked as a seamstress. She owned and operated her own shop, "Sew What" for many years, eventually running the business out of her home. She enjoyed making Raggedy Anne and Andy Dolls, and there is a good chance, if you lived in Appleton, that you may have worn a pair of mittens sewn by Nancy at one time or another. She loved to bowl and participated in the Women's National Bowling Tournament for 25 years, allowing her to travel to many different parts of the country. Most of all, Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by three daughters: Ginny (Mark) Dobberstein, Menasha, Kathy (Jerry) Ritchie, Darboy, and Lisa (Geno) Eick, Appleton; 3 sons: Tim Stinski, Appleton, Dave (Irene) Stinski, Appleton, and Mark (Patti) Stinski, Oshkosh; 10 grandchildren: Stephani, Allison, Cory-Lei, Randee, Bryan, Jenny, Jacob, Matthew, Morgan, and Matthew; 9 great-grandchildren: Annamarie, Felicity, Dylan, Logan, Julia, Kaliya, Ariya, Erica, and Lorilai; 4 brothers: Jim (Rosemary) Bloedorn, Appleton, Gerry (Pat) Bloedorn, Menasha, Mike (Karen) Bloedorn, Blaine, WI, and Dan (Ruth) Bloedorn, Chilton; a sister, Winnie (Wally) Andersen, Hilbert; 2 brothers-in-law: Dean Wilson and Lyle Long; and special friends Eileen and Lori. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 3 sisters: Marian Andrews, Suzzie Long, and Helen Wilson.
A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Sunday, January 21st at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Friends and relatives may visit at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 10 am until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Molly from Affinity Hospice, and to Dr. Daniel Leonard and his nurse Annie for their compassionate care given to Nancy.
