    • Clarence John "Bike" Hemauer, age 86, of Hilbert, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side on November 10, 2012.

He was born August 27, 1926 to John & Rose (Nadler) Hemauer. He graduated from Stockbridge High School and served as a paratrooper in Japan for the United States Army during WWII.

He married Barbara "Bette" Schabach on August 23, 1950; the couple was blessed with 62 years of marriage.

Bike was the proud owner and operator of Hilbert Cabinet & Supply until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert, and the Hilbert American Legion.

Clarence enjoyed sports of all varieties. He was a Packer fan, and an avid Brewer fan. Yearly, he would make the trip to Arizona to catch their Spring Training. Fortunately for Bike, baseball was a local sport as well with the old Appleton Foxes and now the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Although the professional teams were enjoyable, Bike never passed an opportunity to watch or volunteer his time for the teams that his children had played during their youth.

His love of community was evident through his interest and dedication to the Hilbert Village Government.

He was a hard worker, but knew that his greatest asset and joy was his family. Clarence made sure to take time out of his busy schedule to sit down with those he loved for a meal and to play with his children.

He was the ideal 'best friend' who enjoyed every bit of life with no regrets. His witty sense of humor, his one liners, and his smile entertained all those around him.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife: Barbara; his children: Les (Judy) Hemauer and their children, Amanda & Alicia Halderson; Steve (Kathy) Hemauer and their child, Chris Hemauer; Janet (Frank) Morgan; Lynn (Gary) Harden and their children, Heather (Roman) Chestelson, Garrett Harden and friend Dana, Patrick Harden and friend Kristen; Cindy (Randy) Michiels and their child, Mitchell (Nicki) Michiels; Gary (Diane) Hemauer; Pam (Mark) Giannonatti and their children, Justin (Liz) Giannonatti, Brittany, Tyler & Nicole Giannonatti; Brian Hemauer and friend Nancy; great-grandchildren: Ali & Bridget Chestelson, Adrian Harden; brothers and sisters: Doris (Sylvester "Wimp") Zahringer, John (Jean) Hemauer, Rosemary (Robert) Parsons; and in-laws: Dorothy Hemauer, Bill Goeser, Dorothy Grishaber, and Roland Schabach and friend, Lucy. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren: Jennifer & Amanda Hemauer, brothers and sisters: Lucille (Gilbert) Schoen, Alfred (Anita) Hemauer, Leo (Eileen) Hemauer, Mable (John) Cooper, Robert (Lorena) Hemauer, Jerry Hemauer, Francis (Ellen) Hemauer, Elaine Goeser, Jim Hemauer, Joseph Hemauer, Walter Hemauer; and his in-laws: Leo Grishaber, Loretta (Wilbur) Beckley, & Leander (Katie) Schabach.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church (108 S. 6th St.) in Hilbert with the Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 and on Thursday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:30 am.

A parish vigil service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm.

As Clarence would always say, "Never say goodbye, just say 'So Long…' "
