    • James W. Grimmer, age 70, of Appleton, passed away peacefully July 6, 2010, at home surrounded by his family and friends. Jim was born on September 22, 1939, the son of the late William and Marcella (Berg) Grimmer. On April 26, 1958 he married Audrey Fye, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2007. He was a proud father and grandfather of his son David and his grandson Austin. He cherished his brother Bob, who he shared a close loving friendship and was a friend to all who knew him. Jim was employed at Banta Corporation in Menasha for 32 years until his retirement in 2001.

He was an active member in the Appleton Moose Lodge since 1983 where he served in many capacities including Governor. Jim enjoyed life and lived it to his fullest. His kind heart, helping hands, keen sense of humor and big smile will be forever missed.

Jim is survived by his son David (Colleen), his grandson Austin of Appleton; and his brother, Robert Grimmer of Menasha. He is also survived by four sisters-in-law: Diane (Victor) Erickson, Annette (Ronald) Kohlmann, Geraldine Thede and Beverly (Charles) Harder, all of the Chilton area; along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life gathering will be held to on Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Appleton Area Moose Lodge (1216 E. Wisconsin Ave.), Appleton, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Please join his family at that time in a celebration of Jim's life. A private burial service will be held at a future date.
