      Haen, Ethel A. Ethel Haen, age 94, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2007, at St. Paul Villa in Kaukauna. She was born in the town of Hofa Park, Wisconsin, on May 9, 1913, daughter of the late Reinhold and Johanna (Maternowski) Hein. On September 23, 1937, she married Victor Haen in DePere; he preceded her in death in 1969.

      Ethel is survived by seven children: Victor (Diane) Haen, Victoria, Minnesota; Joanne (Lee) Schmalz, Kaukauna; Tom (Lynn) Haen, South Lake Tahoe, California; Jerry (Linda) Haen, Kaukauna; Mary (Gene) Huss, Kaukauna; Jim (Kay) Haen, Markleeville, California; and Jenny (Jim) Dunphy, Fond du Lac. There are seventeen loving grandchildren: Vikki (Gene) Adler, Julie (Jeff) Morton, Beth (Dave) Orlowsky, Heather (Peter) Anderson, Charlie (Dana) Schmalz, Susie Schmalz and her fiance Paul Weber, Mark (Meredith) Schmalz, Robert Haen, Lisa (E.J.) Hixenbaugh, Luke (Yvonne) Haen, Jenny (Kevin) Kloehn, Bill (Wendy) Huss, Bob (Shelli) Huss, Dave (Laurie) Huss, Abe Haen, Jacob (Michelle) Dunphy, and Michael Dunphy; twenty great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter; six sisters-in-law: Lorraine Hein, DePere; Martha (Cyril) Klister, Kaukauna; Irene Kempen, Appleton; Helen (Paul) Lamers, Kaukauna; Lucina (Norbert) Schmidt, Kaukauna; Patricia Schuette, Kaukauna; a brother-in-law, Robert (Frances) Haen, Kaukauna, and a dear friend and "sister", Ella Kuehn, Rhinelander.

      Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Victor in 1969, a brother Ray Hein, a sister-in-law Rita (Richard) Hartzheim, and brothers-in-law: Leo (Gladys) Haen, Merlin Kempen, and Jack Haen.

      Memorial services for Ethel will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH — ST. MARY SITE in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, September 22, 2007, from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.
