- Gladys C. Tillman was born on September 10,1921 in Crystal, NO. While in high school in Milbank, SO, she met Warren Dahlgren. Upon gratuation, she moved to Chicago to work and Warren went to California to be in the Coast Guard. Missing Warren very much, Gladys moved to California to be near him. While there, her brother, Harold, lived with her for awhile. On May 23, 1942, they were married. On May 12, 1944, Julayne was born in Long Beach, CA. Then on February 17,1947, Jeanne was born in Englewood, CA. The war being over, they headed back to South Dakota (Jeanne was six weeks old). Kay was born in Milbank on March 10, 1953. They lived in various places but eventually ended up farming, Warren's first love. They lived on 3 or 4 farms then had the chance to buy his dad's farm where he grew up. They bought it in the early 50's. During the following years, Gladys worked in town at various businesses. They retired approximately 1980. They bought a motorhome and enjoyed it so much. They did a lot of camping, went to flea markets, went to Washington state, Texas and other places to see relatives. They especially enjoyed going to the Missouri River in the fall over their anniversary to salmon fish. Gladys was told in January of 1992 that she had cancer. The treatments began. Many trips to McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. She passed away on February 4, 1993. She had a fighting spirit to the end. She was a great lady. Julayne graduated from Milbank High School in 1962 and married her high school sweetheart on September 8, 1962. He was born in Lemmon, SO in 1942 and graduated from Milbank in 1960. Their children: Michael Warren was born on February 11, 1970 and Kristine Noel (pronounced like the Christmas song) was born on October 7, 1972. In 1992 they built a log home on Big Stone Lake so if anyone is in Milbank, the coffee is always on! Stop in! Upon graduation, Jeanne lived with Julayne for awhile and worked in Aberdeen, SO. There she met and married Ken Neu in 1967. They had four children, David & Dawn (twins), Nikki and Cory. They divorced. She later met and married Richard Amsden in 1974. They had one daughter, Richelle born in 1975. After a few years they divorced. Jeanne now lives and works in Milbank a very happy person. She has four grandchildren and one on the way. After Kay graduated, she married Dwight Nash. He went to Viet Nam and when he came back a different person, they divorced. She later met and married Tim Keller in 1975. They have three beautiful children, Timmy born in 1976, Holly born in 1980 and Joseph born in 1985. Timmy and Holly have graduated and are on their own but Joseph is still home. He will graduate in a couple years. They live on a farm south of Milbank. Kay and Tim both love to landscape, so if ever you are in Milbank, you must stop and see their beautiful farm.
