    • Christian W. "Chip" Glasow, age 82, of Hilbert, died on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Brillion West Haven in Brillion. He was born August 30, 1933 in Chilton, son of the late Christian Sr. & Pauline (Bennin) Glasow.

Chip heard freedom's call and honorably served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956. Following his service, Chip married Beverly Jaeger on September 6, 1958 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton.

During his working years, Chip was employed at Cold Springs Cheese Factory, Meyer's Service and Arien's Company in Brillion where he remained until his retirement. He was a member of the Hilbert Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Hilbert American Legion Post #127.

Chip had a life long passion for music; while in high school, he played drums in the band and his love of music continued on throughout his life. He enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel Music, dancing to Polka's and he always looked forward to to live musical performances at the Gospel Fest in Hilbert and when shows were held during his time at West Haven.

During his free time, Chip enjoyed tending to his garden and canning the veggies he raised, watching birds with a fresh cup of coffee in hand, and traveling the countryside admiring farmer's fields and reminiscing about who used to live where when he was younger. Chip was also well known as a good cook, and an even better winemaker, but he will always be remembered by his love of jellybeans.

For all of the things Chip was known for doing, his family will remember and cherish him for who he was; a man of tremendous character. He was a loving husband, a son's best friend, and a daughter's fishing partner. He cherished little children, all of whom put a big smile on his face. He was the warm hearted human being everyone appreciated who lived in a hat, Dickies and flannel shirts so as to stay warm throughout the year. He will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children: Rick Glasow, Lori (Ken) Linzmeier, Lisa (Pete) Herrick; 7 grandchildren: Tyler, Travis (Stephanie), Nathan (Amy), Janet (Fiance Tony), Brian, Danny, & Aimee; 5 great grandchildren: Zach, Austin, Hailey, Olivia & Mason with another one arriving in November; his sisters: Doris Franz & Lou Ann (Bob) Seidel; and 2 brothers-in-law: Jim & Jerry Jaeger. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Chip was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Beverly; a sister: Elverta (Bob) Olson; and a brother-in-law: Willard Franz.

Funeral service will be at 5:30 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. main St.) in Chilton. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until 5:15 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2016.

Chip's family would like to thank the entire staff at Brillion West Haven for the care, compassion and awesome work that dad received while living there.
