      Greenleaf

      Nathan "Nate" De Cleene, age 24, died Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2002 at home following a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Gloria (Haen De Cleene) Kennedy and the late Howard De Cleene was born December 2, 1978 in Green Bay. He was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Class of 1997. Nate was a member of St. Mary Catholic Parish in Greenleaf. He was currently enrolled at Michigan Tech University, where he was nearing completion of his degree in the field of Geological Engineering. He was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon at MTU. Mr. De Cleene was a member of the school and local mineral and geographical clubs. He had done work study at the University Mineral Museum, where he could pursue his life-long love of rocks and minerals.

      Survivors include his mother and step-father, Gloria and Pat Kennedy a brother, Jonathan De Cleene a sister, Valerie De Cleene and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard De Cleene grandparents, Jerome and Mert Haen, Ellsworth "Al" and Millie De Cleene two uncles, David Haen and Roger Nooyen.

      Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday. Parish prayer service will be conducted at 8:30 PM. Visitation will continue from 9:00 to 11:15 AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenleaf. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:30 AM Friday at church with the Rev. Bob Kabat, officiating. Burial to follow in the Parish Cemetery.

      Nate's family extends a special thank you to the family, friends, and medical staff for their loving support this past year.
