    • Marvin Joseph “Marv” Lardinois, 80, died Friday, December 21, 2018 following a brief battle with cancer. He was born November 3, 1938, in Champion, WI, to the late Orville and Laura (Vandervest) Lardinois, Sr.

Marv attended Luxemburg High School. For 40 years he worked as a lift truck operator for Dean Foods (Green Bay Food) until his retirement in 2000. On June 4, 1966, Marv married Virginia (Ginny) L. Van Egeren at Holy Cross Catholic Church. He served as an usher for 8 O’clock Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church for 43 years. He also volunteered for snow removal at the church and Holy Cross School for 14 years, and grilled hamburgers at the parish picnics for over 50 years. Marv loved hunting with his son and grandson, especially deer and turkey hunting. Marv enjoyed spending his time gardening (and supplying his family and neighbors with fresh vegetables all summer long), doing yard work, wine making, listening to polka music, card playing, cutting fire wood, and spending time doing anything that could be done to enjoy the outdoors. Marv will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Marv is survived by his wife Ginny; his children, Jerry (Deanna) Lardinois, Kathy (Kory) Heller; grandchildren, Dalton, McKenna, Bryleigh Lardinois, Mariah Heller; brothers and sisters, Eleanor (Ken) Kassner, Janice (Ken) Sampo, Orville (Judy) Lardinois, Barbara Lardinois; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Garfield Davister, Donna Van Egeren, Bonnie Van Egeren, Dennis (Shirley) Van Egeren, Steve (Barb) Van Egeren, Tony (Gina) Van Egeren; God-children, Mike Sampo, Chad Van Egeren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rose Marie Davister, Carol Bertrand; a brother, Jim Lardinois, brothers -in-law, Dave and Andy Van Egeren.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Parish Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., preceding the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Abbot Gary Neville, O. Praem. officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. On-line condolences can be sent to the Lardinois family by going to www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Marv’s name to benefit the Holy Cross Parish’s construction of their new Parish Center.

Marv’s family extends a special word of thanks to the caring staff of Unity Hospice, and to all the family, friends, and neighbors who helped our family in our time of need.
