- Sylvia Ann (Danke) Ruppel, 67, Appleton, took the Lord's hand and went home on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born on May 28, 1943, In New London, Wis., the daughter of the late Leonard and Ethel (Dorrow) Danke. On June 27, 1943, Sylvia was welcomed into God's Kingdom of grace through the rite of Holy Baptism. Sylvia later made her solemn vow to God at her confirmation on April 14, 1957, at Zion Lutheran Church in Readfield. Sylvia attended the Yellowstone Trail School and graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School on June 2, 1961. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dale, where she served with the Ladies Aid and the Pioneer Leaders. She was employed at AAL and she enjoyed reading her Bible and spending time with her family.
Sylvia is survived by her children, Linda Ruppel, Appleton; Charles (Karen) Ruppel, Appleton; Carl (Tara) Ruppel, Appleton; and Jana (Paul Christian), New London; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Casandra, Destany, Cody, Nicholas, Darsity, Jacob and Connor; three brothers, Alton (Barbara) Danke, New London; Nathan Danke, New London; and Arden Danke, Weyauwega; two sisters, Donna (David) Pagel, Neenah; and Elvera (David) Kent, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Norene Danke, Waupaca; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sylvia was preceded in death by four brothers, Owen (Erna) Danke, Ivan (Audrey) Danke, Leon Danke, and an infant brother; two sisters, Myra (Robert) Magolski and Lyda Danke.
Visitation will be held at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont, on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Dale. Pastor Bill Finn will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Readfield. A memorial fund has been established.
Sylvia's family would like to extend a very special Thank You to the staff at Tri-Manor South for your many years of service and care. Also a very special thank you to everyone at St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially the ER Staff, Dr. Baum and the staff in the ICU, for their care and compassion during her stay there.
They are also very appreciative for the many prayers and visits from Pastor Bill Finn.
