Bernard J. Van Eperen, a Greenleaf resident, age 87, died Saturday afternoon, March 6, 1993 at a Green Bay hospital following a short illness. The son of the late Cornelius and Johanna (Van Lyssel) Van Eperen was born November 3, 1905in the Town of Kaukauna. On October 16, 1928 Bernard married the former Rose Vanden Heuvel at St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage. The couple farmed all their married lives in Greenleaf. Bernard was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Wrightstown and the Holy Name Society at the church.
Survivors includes his wife, Rose; and their children; Mrs. Don (Elaine) Rietz, Wrightstown; Dorothy and Bill Lamers, Hollandtown; Jerry and Rosemary Van Eperen, Wrightstown; Roger and Elaine Van Eperen, Hollandtown; Mrs. Ken (Mary Ellen) Kalies, Kaukauna; Marv and Colette Van Eperen, De Pere; Maureen and Tom Van Zeeland, Wrightstown; Dan and Diane Van Eperen, Little Chute; 36 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren, a great great grand son, a sister, Mrs. Bernard (Christine) Van Zeeland, Wrightstown; five sisters in-law; Mrs. Arnold (Una) Van Eperen, Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Hietpas, Mrs. John (Helen) Lamers, Mrs. John (Agnes) Vanden Heuvel, Mrs. Si (Margaret) Vanden Heuvel; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons; Ron Rietz and Mark Lamers; a great grandson; Michael Van Eperen; two sons in-law; Don Rietz and Ken Kalies; three brothers; George, Arnold and William; three sisters; Minnie Heindl, Hattie Jansen, and Mathilda Klister.
