  Florence M. O'Connell, 98, longtime resident of Green Bay, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004. She was born Feb. 13, 1906, in Kaukauna, to William and Cecelia (Ellinger) O'Connell. Florence had been employed for many years at Standard Oil Co. as a switchboard operator and later as a receptionist at WBAY. Survivors include two nieces, Patricia VanEssen and Merna Solper and husband, Donald Solper, all of Green Bay; great-nieces and great-nephews, Linda and Robert Karcz, Colorado, Michelle and Dennis Kasten, Green Bay, Jeff VanEssen, Suamico, and Sue VanEssen, Florida; and a special friend, Vivian Thiry. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Bonita O'Connell; a nephew, James VanEssen; and a special friend, Rosco Kundert. Friends may call at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 20. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
