- Clayton P. Fleming, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Clayton was born on April 27, 1916, in Kaukauna, son of the late Percy and Bertha (Heimke) Fleming. On June 5, 1950, Clayton was united in marriage to Lucille Hammen in Winona, MN. He served in the U.S. Army with 101st Airborne Division during WWII. Clayton was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Kaukauna. He was a machinist at Thilmany for 43 years until his retirement in 1978. He enjoyed woodworking with his wife as well as working on cars.
He is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law: Bruce (Cathy) Fleming, Kaukauna, Neal (Lori) Fleming, and Randall (Roberta) Fleming, all of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren: Christine (Jeff), Leonard (Sarah) Fleming, Rachel, Laura, and Samuel Fleming, Jason, Erin, Emily and Elizabeth Fleming; four great-grandchildren: Dustin and Kayla Landers, Hailey and Helen Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille, a brother, Clyde Fleming and a sister, Eva Stein.
Memorial Services for Clayton will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 510 Sullivan St., Kaukauna, with Pastor Melinda Feller officiating. Visitation will held directly at church from 12 Noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Clayton's name is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna, is assisting the family.
