He worked at Jungwirth Ace Hardware in Sister Bay for the past 18 years and was an active participant in the parish life at St. Rosalia Catholic Church. Survived by brothers, John and William (Marilyn); sisters, Rosemarie (Peter), Marilyn (Dean) and Susan; nieces and nephews, Michelle, Nicole, Erik and Christopher; special friend, Lois and all his Jungwirth Hardware Family. Memorial Mass at St. Rosalia's Catholic Church in Sister Bay, WI Sat. June 17 at 1:00 PM. Interment at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Waukesha, Rev. Chester Cappucci officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Donald Van Abel Memorial Fund, c/o Sister Bay Branch of Baylake Bank, P.O. Box 166, Sister Bay, WI 54234.
