      Age 63, died 3:09 p.m. Tuesday after a short illness. He was born August 11, 1912 in Wauwautosa, Wisconsin. Mr. hartwig had lived in Appleton for the past 45 years and was a graduate of Lawrence College, class of 1935. He was a member of the Appleton Rotary Club, was president and founder of Crystal Print, Inc., Little Chute, Wisconsin, and a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Joan Peotter Hartwig; a daughter, Miss Bettina M. Hartwid, Brown Deer, Wisconsin; a son, christopher J. Hartwig, Appleton; a brother Chris Hartwig, Port Washington, Wisconsin; a sister, mrs. Robert Garner, Woodstock, Illinois. A provate service will be held Friday afternoon at the Brettschneider-Trettin Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 14, 1976, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herman Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society, First United Methodist Church of Appleton, Appleton Rotary Foundation and Appleton Memorial Hospital. Memorials may be sent to the Brettschneider-Trettin Funeral Home.
