  • Notes
    • Hollandtown - Robert H. Schmidt, 88, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, November 17, 2019 with family at his side while a resident of St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna.

Bob was one of six children born to Helen and Louis Schmidt. He grew up farming alongside his Dad on the family farm near Hollandtown, taking over the farm after his father's passing. Bob also passed the farm onto his son, Louie, having the homestead farm in the Schmidt family for over 100 years. He was a proud farmer who took pride in working hard to make an honest living.

During his life, Bob was a strong believer in his Catholic faith, raised a loving family and treasured the many friendships that he had made along the way. All of these, with a little fun tossed in, were the stronghold of his life. He loved the Sunday visits from his kids and grandkids, a winning Packer game and a good game of canasta or sheepshead.

Bob is survived by Elaine Schmidt, his loving wife of 60 years. He is also survived by his children, Karen Krause (Robert), Kathy Richardson (Bill), and Kristy Amerson. His daughter-in-law, Jody Schmidt also survives him. He was preceded in death by his son, Louie Schmidt and grandson, David Richardson. He leaves behind his grandchildren: Logan and Brady Krause, Marty, Jenna and great grandson, Liam Richardson, Sarah Richardson and her fiancée, Joey Lee, Trevor and Ally Amerson, Travis Kurscheidt and his fiancée, Allison Coates and Taylor Schmidt. Bob's sisters, Betty Nelson (Bill) and Mary Buechler also survive.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at St Francis Church, 433 County Road CE, Kaukauna, WI 54130. A visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church followed by Mass at 11:30 a.m. with Father Willard Vande Loo officiating. Burial will be in the St Francis Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the staff at St Paul Villa and St. Paul Elder Services for the care and comfort that they provided for our father. We will forever be grateful for your acts of kindness that made him smile and made his days brighter. And to all of Mom and Dad's siblings, friends and neighbors over the years, thank you for your gift of friendship and support. They have meant the world to all of us.

Dad, thank you for being the greatest Dad and instilling the gifts of faith, family and friendship in our hearts and our lives. We will love you forever and always! Love, Your Family.
