- Kathryn "Kay" C. (Laeyendecker) Ratchman, age 63 of Neenah, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2013, at her residence. On April 30, 1950, Kay was born in Neenah to the late Jack C. and Beatrice (Schmalz) Laeyendecker. Kay had a passion for collecting Bee figurines and décor. Finding just the right collectible at different, special moments brought her great joy and happiness. She also enjoyed shopping and dining with friends, as the friendships she made were held close to her heart. Most importantly, Kay loved watching her grandchildren grow by spending time with her daughters and their families. Kay will always be remembered for her kind and loving spirit. Those who knew her well will recount her ability to connect with others. Her warm personality and genuine, good-hearted nature encouraged people to gravitate towards her.
Kay will be dearly missed by her loving daughters: Tina (Nick) Mills and their children: Wyatt and Braylon; and Heidi (Ryan) Wienandt and their son, Parker; her brothers: Gary (Kay) Laeyendecker, Donald (Chris) Laeyendecker, Daniel (Paula) Laeyendecker, Kenneth (Julie) Laeyendecker; a sister-in-law, Cathy Laeyendecker; many nieces and nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Laeyendecker, and a nephew, Terry Laeyendecker.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, October 4, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street in Menasha with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. The Memorial Gathering will be held from 10:00 am until the hour of the Mass at the church. Inurnment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery in the Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
