    • August Propson, 81, formerly of 31 Lehner Street, passed away at Calumet Memorial Hospital Tuesday after a short illness.

      Born in the town of Stockbridge, Sept. 4, 1882, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Propson, he farmed at the town of Chilton until he retired 18 years ago. He then moved to Chilton.

      He was on the town of Chilton Highway Commission for 20 years, and was a member of the Holy Name Society, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Chilton.

      He was married to Louise Wettstein on Nov. 21, 1905 at Holy Trinity Church, Jericho. She passed away Nov. 29, 1951.
      He is survived by four sons, Ambrose, town of Chilton; Aloysius, Kiel; Victor, Stockbridge; Randolph, Brillion; three brothers, Math, Fond du Lac; Albert, Sheboygan Falls, Joseph, town of Stockbridge; 33 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

      One son, two daughters, two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

      Services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Chilton with the Rev. Henry Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
