Mrs. Edward Van Handel [Blanche Van Asten] Rt. 5, Appleton
Age 72, died unexpectedly at 6 p.m. Monday. She was born March 31, 1910 in Freedom. She had been a member of the St. Elizabeth Society.
Survivors include her husband, three daughters and sons in-law, Laverne and Floyd Vandenberg, Rt. 1, Kaukauna; Lorraine and Joe Steffens, Rt. 1, Seymour; Dolores and Pat Van De Hey, Rt. 3, De Pere; five sons and four daughters in-law, Ronald and Irene, Rt. 5, Appleton; Florian and Linda, Rt. 1, Kaukauna; Willard, Clarence and Sharon, Joe and Mary, all of Rt. 5, Appleton; two brothers, Martin and William Van Asten, both of Rt. 1, Kaukauna; four sisters, Mrs. Leo [Mary] Vander Heiden, Kaukauna; Mrs. Leo [Josephine] Micke, Rt. 1, Kaukauna; Mrs. Orville [Alma] Vanevenhoven, and Mrs. Joe [Rosella] Vander Heiden, both of Kaukauna; 24 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry, April 15, 1949. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemeter. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral from 4 until 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of service. There will be an St. Elizabeth Society Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and a parish prayer service at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
