  • Notes
    • Clarence A. Biese, age 81, of Chilton, died on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born September 20, 1935 in Charlestown, son of the late Peter & Eleanor (Salm) Biese.

Clarence devoted prime years of his life in service to his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Clarence returned to the area where he began working at the Carnation Company in Chilton. On May 9, 1959, Clarence married Mary Wagner at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein.

With a strong passion for farming, and a deep love of the land, Clarence began farming in the Town of Stockbridge shortly after his marriage to Mary. His strong work ethic and faithful devotion to the farm allowed Clarence to do what he loved for the remainder of his life: Farm.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. His Catholic Faith was of great importance to him and daily devoted time to prayer and watching Mass on television.

In his free time, Clarence enjoyed a good round of Sheepshead, shooting bean bags, and time spent bowling. He looked forward to watching his beloved Green Bay Packers play, enjoyed listening to Polka Music, and never passed up an opportunity to watch an old western movie or television show. It also wasn’t uncommon to find Clarence cruising the country side monitoring the status of all of the fields and crops throughout the area.

Clarence was a friendly, talkative individual who enjoyed making new friends in people he came across. Above all of the gifts God had given him in this earthly life, none were of more importance than his family. He was so proud of each and every one of his children and grandchildren for all that they were, and all that they had become in their lives.

Survivors include his wife: Mary; his children: Debra (Jim) Hooyman, Kevin Biese, Joan (George) Sweere, Kieth (Rose) Biese, Mike (Penny) Biese, Robert (Lori) Biese, Connie (Brian) Moehn, Al Biese, Brian (Vicky) Biese, Daniel (Carla) Biese, Kim (Lance) Lisowe; 23 grandchildren: Nichole, Rickey, Tom, Crystal, Andrew, Maria, Emily, Abigail, Heidi, Samantha, Chris, Amber, Allison, Anthony, Ashley, Tyler, Aaron, Cheyenne, Austin, Ethan, Owen, Autumn & Ryan; 11 great grandchildren with another on their way; his siblings: Ken (Betty) Biese, Floyd (Bernice) Biese, Caroline (Clarence) Schneider, Betty Hennings; and his in-laws: Ruth Biese, Rogene Biese & Donald (Katie) Wagner.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his grandchildren: Adam & Austin Biese; his siblings: Eleanor (Robert) Gebhart, Dolores (Gib) Veit, Richard, Martin, Roman and infant siblings, Robert & Bernice Biese; and his brother-in-law: Donald Hennings.
