      Helen M. Garrity, 93, Green Bay, died early Thursday morning March 11, 2004 at a local hospital. The daughter of the late William and Nellie (Titulaer) Bertrand was born Nov. 9, 1910, in West De Pere. Helen worked in her early years at Western Union. She was one of the founders of Riverview Lumber Company in 1936 and remained the bookkeeper for Riverview for 65 years. On Sept. 17, 1930, she married George L. Garrity at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1993.
      Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Helen (Donald) Vande Hei; four sons and three daughters-in-law, James Garrity, Robert and Mary Garrity, George Jr. and Donna Garrity, Patrick and Andre Garrity; 28 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Josephs; one brother-in-law, Carl Thirion.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, George; one daughter-in-law, Betty Garrity; one brother-in-law, Hugo Josephs; four brothers, Leo (Josie), Francis (Ethel), Eugene (Vi), Howard (Kay); and two sisters, Marion (Jerome) Kane and Gertrude Thirion.
      Friends may call from 4 to 7 today (Friday) at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 N. Tenth St., De Pere. Parish Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar, until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at the church with the Rev. David Ashbeck, officiating. Burial in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
