- John, age 89, of Appleton, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 13, 1918, in Appleton, son of the late John and Theresa (Mueller) Vogl Sr. John married Margaret M. Miller August 22, 1953, sharing 54 years together. John owned and operated Vogl's Garage from 1948 until 1955. From 1955 until his retirement in June 1980 he was employed by Consolidated Paper. John was member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
John is survived by his wife Margaret; seven children: Rebecca Vogl, Appleton; Margaret Vogl, Appleton; Theresa Vogl, Appleton; John T. (Mary) Vogl, Kimberly; Joseph Vogl, Appleton; Dianna (Daryl) Bunnell, Appleton; and David Vogl, Appleton; seven grandchildren: Carl (Carisa) Fronczak, Chad Fronczak, Kelly (Nate) Wagner, Jason Vogl, Michael Vogl, Jason Bunnell and Heather Bunnell; five great-grandchildren: Casandra, Justin, Jaiden, Nicholas and Zachary; three sisters-in-law: Esther Seegers, Freedom; Gladys Hopfensperger, Scandinavia; Andrea Miller, Appleton.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Barbara (LeRoy) Steirman and two brothers-in-law: Lloyd Miller and Raymond Miller.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Dr., with Rev. Donald Zuleger officiating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank Affinity VNA and especially Deanna Olk for the special and gentle care they gave John.
