    • Romenesko, Isabel (Lamers) 2000 Appleton Post Crescent Isabel (Lamers) Romenesko, "Issy" W1948 Vandenberg Street Freedom She was age 70, died on Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on December 21, 1929, in Little Chute, the daughter of the late Theodore G. and Minnie (De Bruin) Lamers. Issy was united in marriage to Orville Romenesko on September 25, 1948, at St. John's Catholic Church in Little Chute. Issy was a secretary for 21 years at Freedom High School. She had many hobbies with some of her favorites being bird watching, gardening, golfing, card playing, baking, and most of all, spending time with her family and grandchildren. Issy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Orville Romenesko; her three sons, Bruce, Freedom; Mark (Diane), Darboy; Paul (Debbie), Appleton; four daughters, Becky (Don) Green, Appleton; Kim Romenesko, Milwaukee; Ann (fiance, David Duquette), Freedom; Amy (special friend, Cory Coleman), Milwaukee; 16 grandchildren, Brian, Adam, Erin, Jonelle, Dana, Dawn, Elizabeth, Jessica, Dustin, Neil, Abby, Tony, Kayla Mae, David, Kayla Marie and Jon. Issy is further survived by a brother, Paul (Joyce) Lamers, Little Chute; a sister, Margaret Verstegen, Michigan; a friend and sister-in-law, Carol (Leo) Lamers, Little Chute; and a brother-in-law, Frank Brooks, Menasha. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Pearl (Florian) DeGroot, Irene (Elrick) Brooks; a brother, Leo Lamers; two brothers-in-law, John "Toby" Elrick, Gerald Verstegen, and a sister-in-law, Irene (Baeten) Lamers. The funeral liturgy will be at noon on Monday, June 19, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Freedom, with the Reverend Melvin Wierzbicki officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7:30 p.m., and again on Monday from 9 a.m. until the cortege leaves for church. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials to the American Lung Association for emphysema research would be appreciated. The family would like to extend a thank-you to all the health care professionals who took care of Issy, with a special thank-you to Dr. Maria T. Aristigueta and Dr. Alan Cherkasky. Mom was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who is finally home in heaven breathing free and easy. We will miss her and love her always. FARGO FUNERAL HOME 400 W.
