  Earl Alger Rt. 2, Hilbert Age 85, died Friday at Appleton Extended Care Center following a brief illness. He was born September 2, 1890 in Thorp, Wisconsin and had lived in Kaukauna from 1923 to 1950 when he moved to Rt. 2, Hilbert. He worked for Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company as a truck driver for 32 years. The survivors are his wife, Josephine VanHulst Alger, four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Schmidt, Mrs. John (June) Weber, both of Rt. 2, Hilbert, Mrs. Lester (Pat) Wienius of Little Chute, and Mrs. David (Carol) Elmergreen of Hilbert, six sons, George, Marvin, Robert, and Bernard, all of Kaukauna, John of Rt. 2 Hilbert, and Ronald of Rt. 1, Chilton, a brother, Donald Alger of Ladysmith, three sisters, Mrs. Doris Ustruch of Milwaukee, Mrs. Hazel Weyenberger, and Mrs. Layton Ashne, both of Thorp, 39 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two granddaughters. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Stockbridge with the Rev. Rhinehart Kitzman officiating. Interment will be in Portland Cemetery in the Town of Brant. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home in Stockbridge after 4 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday and after 1 p.m. at the church until the hour of service.
