      Cornelissen, Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen Cornelissen, 70, Greenleaf, passed away peacefully early Monday morning at home with family present after a year long battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Green Bay, a daughter of the late Marcus and Margaret (DeCleene) Leick. On Sept. 2, 1963 she married Jack Cornelissen.

Mary Ellen was a selfless person and considered the "rock" of her family. She found the good in everyone. She was a shoulder to lean on and a friend to all. She was a faithful member of St Clare Catholic Church - St. Mary site; she enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking especially with her grandchildren, going to the grandchildren's sporting events, and spending time with her family and friends. Mary Ellen loved to travel with Jack, especially to Florida where she leaves behind many family and friends. Mary Ellen was also an active member of the Greenleaf/Wrightstown Optimist Club with which she lived out her life through the Optimist Creed. She worked at June Zimonick Studio and was a caregiver for June and Bob for many years.

Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Joleen (Scott) Gosha, Darren (Donna) Cornelissen, Corey Cornelissen, Nicole (Bob) Hoffmann, and Shawn (Mary Beth) Cornelissen; ten grandchildren, Tyler, Travis, Ryan, Austin, Paige, Kearstin Cornelissen, Isaac, Olivia, and Evan Hoffmann, and Nathan Gosha. She is further survived by her siblings, Lou (Paul) Wiegert, Roger (JoAnn) Leick, John (Joan) Leick, Dick (Barb) Leick, Marlene (Glenn) Geurts, Tom (Linda) Leick, Gary (Marlene) Leick, and Ann (Randy) Smits; Jack's family, Carol (Bill) Burke, Germaine Diny, Mary Lou (Lloyd) Gussert, Jerry (Bonnie) Cornelissen, and Sandra Greenley; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; Jack's parents Sylvester (Vivian) Cornelissen, and friends.
