      Werner, Isabelle M.

Isabelle M. Werner, 96, Menasha, passed away with her family at her side on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Oakridge Gardens in Menasha. She was born on Sept. 24, 1912, in Sherwood, daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Ecker) Ciske. Isabelle was united in marriage to Robert Werner in June of 1940; he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1979. Isabelle was a life long member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. She enjoyed crocheting and was in a card club. She loved being a homemaker and family was everything to her. She liked to go shopping in Appleton with her sisters. The family would always gather at "Great Gramma's" house for Christmas. Each new baby was welcomed with a new baby afghan made by Isabelle and then she would make lap robes for all of the "oldsters" to help keep them warm.

Isabelle will be missed by her loving children, Carol (Grant) Hoffman and Susan (Thomas) Gruper; eight grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Vic) Thern, David (Katrina) Hoffman, Eric Hoffman, Adam Hoffman, Dan (Mary) Gruper, Kelly (Randy) Van Caster, Mike Gruper, and Steven (Ann) Gruper; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude Koslowski; a brother-in-law, Peter Harris; a sister-in-law, Katherine Ciske; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, John (Frieda) Ciske, Ed (Genny) Ciske, Tony Ciske, Clarence "Lovey" (Jean) Ciske; four sisters, Marie (Ray) Bradish, Cele (Mose) Belanger, Elly Ciske, Betty Harris; a great-grandson, Wyatt Thern; and a brother-in-law, Herb Koslowski.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha, with Fr. Larry Canavera officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.

      The family would like

      to extend many thanks to

      the staff at Oakridge

      Gardens and the special

      friends she made there

      during her stay. She loved

them all! Also a thank you

      to Heartland Hospice for

      their loving care. Thank you

      to Cindy Spielbauer from

      St. Mary Care Ministries for
