- Patrick Francour Sr., 95, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Bay Area Medical Center. Pat was born on November 16, 1919, in Grover, Wis. to the late Adam and Agnes (Carney) Francour.
In 1931, his family moved to Menominee County, Mich. where he spent his teenage years farming and logging. Pat then moved to Chicago for one year and then back to Menominee where he worked in various factories.
On September 12, 1942, he married Carol VanEyck at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson, Mich.
Pat worked for Wisconsin Public Service for 38 years, retiring in 1982. Besides gardening, Pat loved the North Country and enjoyed places such as Mackinac Island, Pictured Rocks, the Copper Country and Canada. His most precious times were with his family, especially the times spent with his sons at camp deer hunting. Pat was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Pat is survived by his six children: Judy (Michael) Vorachek of Lee's Summit, MO; Colleen (Bruce) Christensen of Menominee, MI; Pat (Kathy Martin) of Stephenson, MI; Tim (Jackie), Matt (Jill) and Rebecca Francour, all of Menominee, MI; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Dorothy Schwindt, Frances Chilson, Helen Bezio, Mildred Walters and Virginia Surk; one brother, Eugene Francour; and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol; granddaughter, Tammy; daughter-in-law, Nanci Francour; son-in-law, David Impola; four sisters: Lorraine, Jeanette, Florence and Ella; and three brothers: Willard, George and John.
Family and friends may call at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 after 11 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. with Father Michael Ocran officiating.
Burial will follow in Birch Creek Cemetery.
