- John H. Ahrens Formerly of 711 E Fremont St., Ap-pl an, age 96, died early Friday morning, September 30, 1983. follow-ing a lingering illness. He was born July 2. 1887 at the Town of Center, the son of the late Joseph and Marie Ah-rens. John resided in the Appleton area all of his life and was employed by the Consolidated Paper Company, at theis Interlake Mill until he retired about 25 years ago. He also operated a home cantruction business. He member of Sacred Heart Catho lie Church. Survivors include three sons: Gilbert and William Ahrens, both of Appleton; and Henry Ahrens, Mountain, WI, a brother, Alvin AK rens, Appleton; three sisters: Mrs. George (Martha) Schabo, Mackville; Mrs. Paul (Ella) Kemke, New Lan-don; and Mrs. George (Olga) Wolfgram, Appleton; 11 graMchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Mr. Ah-rs was preceded in death by his firens, wife, the former Frances I Schwab, October 13, 1924, and his second wife, the former Margaret Muthig, November 7, 1979, also two daughters, Irene and Evelyn, a brother, William, and two sisters, Emma and Bertha. The mass of re surrection a scheduled for ROO a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert Stem-per officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brat schneidepTratin Fu-eral Home, 608 N. Oneida St., from 4 I o 9 p.m. Sunday, and after 8:30 Mm-I day morning until the renege leaves for the church. The rosary will be prayed at 8 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
