- St. John, Wis. Michael Halbach, 59, a resident here, died at St. Vincent hospital, Green Bay Wednesday. Death followed an operation. The remains were taken to the home where they will remain until Friday, when funeral services will be held at St. Johns church. The ceremony will consist of a solemn high mass with Rev. Peter Salm, pastor, as celebrant, assisted by two other priests as deacons and sub-deacon. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Halbach was born Aug. 27, 1876, at Marytown.
In May, 1901 he married Miss Elizabeth Muellenbach, and the young couple settled on a farm at St. John where they since lived. Mr. Halbach was a member of the Catholic Knights and the Holy Name Society of St. Johns church.
Survivors are; his wife, Elizabeth; his father, Joseph Halbach, Sr., Marytown; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Bauer, Jr., and Miss Verina Halbach, St. John; four sons, Raymond, Clement, Urban, Cyril, all of St. John; seven brothers, Math, of Johnsburg; Joseph, Calumetville, John, Henry, Vincent, Leo of Marytown; Paul, St. Anna; five sisters, Mrs. Nick Thelen, Marytown, Mrs. Norbert Ziegelbauer of Marytown, Mrs. Edw. Stephany, Fond du Lac, Sister M. Romana and Sister M. Wilhelma, member of the St. Francis, St. Francis convent, Milwaukee; and 8 grandchildren.
