    • Ruth I. Young (Dingeldein), age 95, of Appleton, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016. She was born on March 13, 1920 in the Town of Heartland to the late John and Ida (Richter) Dingeldein.

Ruth married the love of her life, Gilbert on August 22, 1942 and together they were blessed with nine children. Ruth was a house keeper at Lawrence University for thirteen years before her retirement in 1983. Once retired she found many ways to keep busy; one of which was volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul. She enjoyed sewing and quilting with the ladies at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ruth also found great joy in gardening, reading and baking. Ruth would often bake cupcakes for family, friends and neighbors. Above all Ruth cherished her family and her fondest memories are those of her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her nine children, Thomas (Linda) Young of Appleton, Diane (Del) Romenesko of Menasha, Lois (Walter) Malliet of Bear Creek, Joanne (Darwin) Hostettler of Hortonville, Nancy (Steven) Rasmussen of Pelican Lake, Gilbert (Nancy) Young of Kimberly, Brenda (John) Krueger of Appleton, Lynn Burroughs (Derrick Ayers) of New Richmond, Ohio and Dennis (Jennifer) Young of Marinette. She is further survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-seven great- grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and many more nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert, six brothers, four sisters, three grandchildren and several other dear relatives.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday starting at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ruth's name. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Prairie Homes and ThedaCare at Home for all the wonderful care given to Ruth.
