      Braun, Marylin Dolores "Lynn"


      Marylin Dolores "Lynn" Braun passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009, God chose to take Lynn to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on February 3, 1937; daughter of the late Ralph and Marie (Heinz) Schmalz. She grew up in the Neenah-Menasha area and graduated from St. Mary High School in 1955. Lynn was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clancy Braun, on October 18, 1958, and had been married for 51 years. She had been a member of St. Mary's Parish, Menasha, and presently was a member of St. Bernard's Parish, Appleton.

      Lynn loved Monte Alverno Retreat Center, Appleton, and was mentored by Rev. Bill Alcuin. She was a member of the Monte Alverno Guild, a member of Cusa group 29, Neenah-Menasha Fox Valley Connection, Precept Ministries, Focalore Movement, Past Officer of The Nicolet Ladies and currently their Sunshine Chairwoman. Lynn loved to study the Word of God and was a Friendship Bible guide. She guided Bible studies in her home for over 20 years. Lynn loved her husband dearly; her children meant so much to her and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her joys.

      Survivors include her husband, Clancy, Menasha; daughter and "son-in-love", Brenda and David Edge, Bonduel; sons and "daughters-in-love": Brian and Holli, South Elgin, IL, Bradley and Jenny, Ortonville, Mich., Brent and Mary Kay, Neenah; grandchildren: Sarah and Adam, MI, Joellen and Joshua, Neenah, Kristin (Dan) Metoxen, Green Bay, Trenton (Nicole) Edge, Green Bay, and Evan (Julie) Veldt, Black Creek; great-grandchildren: Jacob and MaKenzie Metoxen and Quinten and Allison Edge. She is also survived by her brother Darwin (Joan) Schmalz, Freedom; sister-in-law Rosemary Ulman, St. Petersburg, FL; brother-in-law Farrell (Theresa) Braun, Williamsburg, VA; Godchildren: Cheri Lynn Sprangers, Joanne McNeil, and Sharon Hildebrant; along with many beautiful and loved nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene, in-laws John and Esther Braun and brother-in-law Larry Ulman.

      The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton, with Revs. John Bergstadt and Dennis Ryan officiating. Family and friends may call at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Tuesday morning at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. There will be a Parish Vigil Service on Monday evening, 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Menasha.

      I have placed all my hope of life hereafter in Jesus Christ, the true Son of God. Jesus' life, death and resurrection have given my eternal life meaning and make my death a peaceful passage to eternal life in heaven.
