    • Peter J. Hoffmann, 61, of Remington, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.
      Private family services will be held. Peter will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, Michigan. Those wishing to sign Peter's guestbook may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com.
      Peter was born July 12, 1955 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Joseph and Shirley (VandenHeuvel) Hoffmann. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1973. Peter attended seminary during his high school years and went on to attend Purdue University. He was a machine operator for Rose Acre Farms in Rensselaer. Peter was a former member of the Remington Lions Club. He loved spending time at the library, woodworking and playing his guitar.
      He is survived by his children Matthew "Matt" (Tina) Hoffmann of El Paso, Texas, Christa Hoffmann (Colin Ragland) of Chesterton, Indiana; granddaughter Ellen Ragland; parents Joseph and Shirley Hoffmann of St. Joseph; siblings Susan (Kevin) Cordes of St. Joseph, Jeanne Hoffmann (Bruce Rasch) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cathryn (Rick) Riggin of Plainwell, Michigan, MaryJo (Robert) Ching of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Patrick Hoffmann of St. Joseph, Helen (Mike) Krizman of South Bend, Indiana, Simon (Lara) Hoffmann of St. Joseph, Joy (Bill) Dunwoodie of Atlanta, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews and his caring friends at the Remington Library.
