Women Dies at 83 Leaving 233 Descendants
Mrs. John Verbeten of Wrightstown is Dead After Year's Illness
Wrightstown, Wis. - Seventy-six grandchildren, 142 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren are among the survivors of Mrs. John Verbeten, 83, who died at 9 o'clock Thursday evening at her home in West Wrightstown after a years's illness. Born in Bay Settlement, July 29, 1862, she lived in this community for the past 55 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and of the Christian Mother's Society.
The body is at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, where it may be viewed after 7o'clock Saturday evening. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Saturday and Sunday nights. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at St. Paul's Church with the Rev. August Broekman celeebrant at the solemn requuiem high mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, six daughters and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. Minnie Kerkhoff, West Wrightstown; Mrs. Peter Leibergen, Freedom; Mrs Richard Lamers, Kaukauna, Route 3; Mrs. Henry Arnoldussen, Kimberly; Mrs. Peter Verbeten, Kimberly; and Mrs. Alvira V. McDaninel, Kaukauna. The sons are John and Frank Van Lanen, by a previous marriage, of Wrightstown, and Howard Verbeten, Kaukauna. There are also four step-sons, Martin Verbeten, Kimberly; Cornelius and Arnold Verbeten, Wrightstown; and Harold Verbeten, Seymour, and four step daughters, Mrs. Theodore Micke, Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. Norbert Behl, Clouquet, Minn.; Mrs. Herman Klister, Wrightstown; and Mrs. George Lambers, Wrightstown. She is also survived by two brothers, Frank Van Lanen of Green Bay, and Edward Van Lanen, Minneapolis, and two sisters, Mrs. A.A. Marchant, Green Bay, and Mrs. Ellzabeth Dennis, Chicago. There are also 53 step-grandchildren and 38 step-great-grandchildren.
