    • Emily Rasmussen passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna. Emily was born March 5, 1926 in Appleton, daughter of the late Frank and Rachel (Milheiser) Hogen. She married Ernest Rasmussen on June 7, 1947 in Kimberly; he preceded her in death on October 31, 1995. As a young woman, Emily worked as a nursesÂ’ aide at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She enjoyed playing pool, cheering for the Minnesota Vikings, and making wagers with family and friends during football season. While Ernest was alive, the couple enjoyed hunting and fishing together. More recently, lively games of dominoes and cards with her friends at Golden Venture Apartments consumed her time.

      Emily is survived by her mother: Elizabeth Hogen of Kimberly; two daughters: Christine (Dennis) Van Vreede of Freedom and Betsy (Ronald) Brockman of Black Creek; two sons: Ernest F. (Ann) Rasmussen of Kaukauna and David (Pat) Rasmussen of Appleton; seven grandchildren: Michael (Tiffany) Van Vreede, Chad Van Vreede, Rachel (Carl) Peterson, Eric Rasmussen, Kirsten Rasmussen, Brandon Rasmussen, and Lindsey Rasmussen; three great-grandchildren: Tyler and Marcus Van Vreede and Ashton Peterson; a sister: Patricia Vander Bloemen of Kimberly; a brother-in-law, and three sisters-in-law. Emily was preceded in death by brothers Willard and Emmett, a sister Dorothy, and a brother-in-law Dennis Vander Bloemen.

      Funeral services for Emily will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, June 19, 2006 at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home in Kimberly with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of the services.
