    • Ex-Alderman Dies
      Arnold Peerenboom, 88, a pioneer resident of Outagamie county, died at his home here Monday afternoon. He operated a clothing store in Appleton for a number of years and was a former alderman.
      Pioneer Resident Of County Is Dead
      Arnold Peerenboom, 88, a retired Appleton merchant, and a former alderman and a pioneer resident of Outagamie county, died at his home, 328 W. Eighth street, at 4:20 Monday afternoon from a heart disease.
      He was born in Herveld, Holland, Febb. 1, 1847, came to the United States when he was nine years old and resided with his parents at Little Chute. When he was 12 years old he went to work in a stave factory at Seymour and 3 years later he entered the employ of the Peerenboom and Kober Clothing store in Appleton. In 1875 he started a store of his own and retired in 1915 after 40 years at its proprietor. For 10 years he operated a branch store in Little Chute.
      Mr. Peerenboom was a member of the Holy Name socciety of St. Mary's church, Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, Elks and the Outagamie County Pioneer and Historical society.
      Survivors are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. David Devine, Menominee Falls; five sons, George, Green Bay; Arnold Jr., Denver Colo.; Victor, Chicago, Willard and Richard, Appleton; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
