      Henry J. Van Asten Rt. 1, Kaukauna
      [Freedom]

      Age 81, passed away Wednesday afternoon. He was born in Green Bay, December 19, 1987. He farmed in the Town of Freedom until his retirement in 1946. Mr. Van Asten was a member of St. Nicholas Holy Name Society.

      He is survived by his wife, Caroline; five daughters, Mrs. Edward [Blanche] Van Handel, Appleton; Mrs. Leo [Mary] Vander Heiden, Mrs. Leo [Josephine] Micke, Mrs. Orville [Alma] Vanevenhoven, and Mrs. Joseph [Rosella] Vander Heiden, all of Kaukauna; two sons, Martin and William, both of Kaukauna; two brothers, Mike, Kaukauna; and William, Little Chute; two sisters, Mrs. Patrick [Anna] Murphy, Kaukauna; and Mrs. George [Regina] Gerrits, Green Bay; 48 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

      Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, the Rev. Alfred Hietpas officiating. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
