- De Pere - Raymond "Ray" J. Ebben, 90, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, May 29, 2019. He was born September 30, 1928 to the late John and Anna (Albers) Ebben. Ray served his country in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. On September 5, 1953 he married Joyce Vanden Berg at St. Phillips Catholic Church, Green Bay.
Ray worked at Armour Meats for over 34 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, De Pere. He had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed telling a good joke. Ray loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding the wildlife and playing cards. It was the time though that he spent with his family and friends, that meant the most to him.
He is survived by his children; Mark (Beth) Ebben, Mike (Bobbie) Ebben, Mary (Brad) Vaughn, Milt (Jodi) Ebben and Michele (Bill) Tadych. Ray is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his sister in law Irene Ebben, special friend Pat Smits, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his siblings; Edward (Mabel) Ebben, Leona (Nick) Kielpikowski, Jeanie (George) Vanden Eng, Harold Ebben, and Norbert Ebben.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere after 5:00PM Monday June 3, 2019. A parish prayer service will take place at 7:00PM to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue after 9:00AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Fr. Benny Jacob O.Praem. officiating and Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen assisting. Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
