    • Vander Bloomen, Kathleen Mary

      Kathleen Vander Bloomen, 93 years, was called to heaven on October 10, 2017, where she was met by family members that have preceded her in death. She was born on November 8, 1923 to the late Bernard and Viola (Kennicker) Schueller. On October 25, 1947, she married Norbert Vander Bloomen at Holy Ghost Church in Dubuque, Iowa.

      After her marriage, she resided in the De Pere area where she was employed at various nursing homes and hospitals until her retirement where she continued to care for her husband until his death 1997.

      Kathleen is survived by her sons: Jon Vander Bloomen, James (Mary) Vander Bloomen, David (Judy) Vander Bloomen, and Roy (Sue) Vander Bloomen; grandchildren: Matthew Ritter, Johanna (Todd) Bernardy, Donald (Samantha) Vander Bloomen, David (Calyn) Vander Bloomen, Lisa (Justin) Matzke; stepchildren: Nathan (Theresa Priebe) Lehouiller, Amber Lehouiller, and Rueben Langdon; 7 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchild. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

      Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, Norbert, her parents, daughter Joan Ritter, along with her sisters and brothers, brother and sister-in-laws.

      She will be remembered for her words of wisdom, caring heart, love of life and her strong religious faith.

      Celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH, 1307 Lourdes Ave., De Pere, on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00am.
