- Della A. DeStarkey, 84, Green Bay, died on her sister Mae's birthday, Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at a local nursing home. She was born April 12, 1929, in De Pere to John and Nellie (Minten) Vanden Heuvel. Della married Donald DeStarkey in 1948, and he preceded her in death.
Della enjoyed her free time. She loved gambling with her daughters, playing cards with her nieces and nephews and for 18 years she walked everyday with her neighbor and best friend, Jane Wilson. She considered herself a people person and loved "comparing" children with her sister Mae. Della loved the Chicago Cubs.
Della is survived by her children and their spouses, Ellen and Richard Farr, Green Bay; Peter and Pat DeStarkey, Lena; Terry and Pat Ryan, Sobieski; Leann Kobylinski, Green Bay; Nick and Sheryl DeStarkey, Mississippi; John and Debbie DeStarkey, Green Bay; Russell and Lori DeStarkey, Green Bay; Roger and Maribeth DeStarkey, Green Bay; Kevin and Cheryl DeStarkey, Pulaski; Michael DeStarkey, Sobieski; Mary Prosek and Kevin, Seymour; Janet Parker, Menominee Falls; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David DeStarkey; a son-in-law, Brian Kobylinski; grandchildren, Robyn Ryan and Lucas DeStarkey; a great-granddaughter, Erin Roberts; and her brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the "M&M" Twins (Marlene and Marlyce); her nieces and nephews, Bev and Barb, Joan and Tom, Carol and Tom; her good friend, Whitey Gerrits, the staff of Unity Hospice, especially, Rikki, Tara, Melissa and Amanda.
Della wanted all her children to know that she knows what they are doing and appreciates everything they have done for her and she loves every one of them very much.
