- Mrs. August Schmitz Dies; Rites Saturday
Mrs. August Schmitz, 65, 408 Oak street, died suddenly Wednesday morning in a local hospital after a lingering illness.
She was born Elizabeth Kleuskens in West De Pere April 25, 1887. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and Altar Society of St. Joseph's church.
Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Carbine, Chicago; two sons, Alvin Ristow, Appleton, and Merrill Ristow, Chicago; a stepson, Ray Schmitz, Milwaukee; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leonard Bruce, Middleton, Wis.; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Gustave Ristow, Appleton, Mrs. John Helf, Little Chute, and Mrs. Len Berken, West De Pere, and one brother, Theodore Kleuskens, West De Pere.
The body may be viewed after 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Coad Funeral home. The Rev. J.N. Diny will recite the rosary at 8 o'clock Friday evening. The solemn requiem high mass will be offered at 10 o'clock Saturday morning in St. Joseph's church. The Rev. Diny will be the celebrant and burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery, West De Pere.
