    • VanVonderen, Doris

Our loving mom, Doris VanVonderen, has passed into the arms of our Lord on July 19, 2015 surrounded by her children. There to meet her was our dad to be reunited in heaven.

Mom was born on March 13, 1931 to the late John and Mary (Vanenkenvort) Whitman and grew up in West De Pere. She attended Nicolet High School. On October 15, 1949 she was united in holy matrimony to Donald R. VanVonderen. Mom always said dad had to come to the good side of town to find his love.

Mom was a devoted catholic, had a strong faith in God and belonged to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family in De Pere.

In mom's younger years she worked outside the home, but the job she loved and cherished the most was raising her 5 children. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved her Saturday morning coffee clutch.

Mom is survived and will be deeply missed by her 5 children: Diane (Larry) Horner of Sheridan, MI; Julie White of West De Pere; Lori (Jim "J.J.") Gillett, of Green Bay; Dave (Carolyn) VanVonderen of West De Pere; and Bob (Barb) VanVonderen of Green Bay; grandchildren: Erik (Michelle) Kulkoski, Amanda Horner, Allison White (Jordan Smits), Jenna White (Shawn Umentum), Lindsay (Dalton) Spencer, Kaitlin, Zachary, Lucas and Megan VanVonderen, Sherri Baasch and Kacie Blahnik; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Alex, Logan, Madyson, Jaxson and Mason.

She is further survived by her sisters Elsie Liska, Darlene Van Lanen, and many nieces and nephews. Doris will also be missed by her faithful companion Gizmo. She is also survived by her McDonalds Sunday after church coffee crew, Mary Vander Logt and Eunice Kocken.

Preceding mom in death was her husband Donald on March 29, 2001, her parents John and Mary Whitman, grandson Jacob Donald, son-in-law Herbert "Fuzz" White, her sisters, Donna Schroeder, Gail Umentum, Jonet Ailiff, brothers, Clayton and William.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Avenue, De Pere, on Wednesday, July 22, from 4:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm with the Rev. James T. Baraniak, O.Praem officiating. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, De Pere.

A very special thank you to granddaughters Allison White, for the special care she gave taking care of grandma, and Jenna White for sleeping on the floor by grandma, keeping her company.

Special thanks to Chris Allard from Southern Care for his professional care given to our mom. To Fr. Jim Baraniak, O.Praem and Fr. Jack Harper for their visits, powerful prayers and blessings.

Also a very heartfelt thank you from our family to Dr. Peter Fergus for taking care of mom for over 35 years.

Mom - you were the rock of our family. You were there for each one of us. We will miss you more than any words can say. Your smile, your laughter, and your hugs will be carried with all of us. 'Til we are all together again. We Love You Mom, always and forever!
