    • Anton "Tony" L. Beyer, 89, New Franken resident, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 22, 1922, in New Franken, to the late August and Mary (Stalter) Beyer. Tony married the former Betty Abts on June 5, 1946, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in New Franken. Tony and Betty owned and operated a dairy farm in New Franken, until their retirement in 1984. He enjoyed ice fishing and square dancing. Tony enjoyed spending time at their cottage in Crivitz, especially golfing at De Schmidt's Golf Course. His greatest pride and joy was his family. Tony was a lifetime member of St. Kilian Parish in New Franken.

      He is survived by his wife, Betty; and their 12 children, Harold "Butch" (Kathy), Delores Horkman, Mary (Mark) Kittell, JoAnn (David) Schott, Bob (Donna), Al (Lori), Tony (Sandy), Jackie (Jim) Treml, Marie (Brian) Pinchart, Tammy (Harold) Isenberg, Tracy Smith and Jennifer Beyer; 32 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Ralph (Ann) Abts and Clayton (Shirley) Abts; six sisters-in-law, Rosie (Bud) Brosig and Bev (Al) Schott, Joyce Abts, Ruth Abts, Carol Abts and Marge Dollar; nieces and nephews.

      Tony was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Beyer; one grandchild, Jean Beyer; four brothers, Peter (Rose), Frank (Margaret), Joseph and William (Mabel) Beyer; three sisters, Katie (Bob) Tilkens, Maggie (Harold) Aerts and Elisabeth Beyer; as well as numerous in-laws.

      Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday; Parish Wake Service 8 p.m Wednesday with Deacon Tony Abts officiating. Visitation will continue on Thursday after 9:30 a.m. at St. Kilian Church until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. William O'Brien officiating.       In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

      Tony's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and residents of Oak Creek Assisted Living; the nurses and staff of St. Vincent Hospital; and the nurses and staff at Unity Hospice. Their care and concern will always be remembered.
