- Valentyne, Maryann Sis (Weyenberg) Kimberly
Age 82, peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 11, 2003. She was born in Little Chute on May 1, 1920, the daughter of the late George and Mayme (Huiting) Weyenberg. On August 9, 1939, she married Harry Valentyne at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. They enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. Sis was a longtime member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and served with the Ladies of Holy Name. She also served as a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Kimberly. Activities she enjoyed include crocheting, playing the organ, camping, and fishing at her daughters cottage. Sis will be remembered for her great cooking.
Sis is survived by her husband, Harry, two sons: Dennis (Jan) Valentyne of Kimberly and Dave (Sandie) Valentyne of Appleton; a daughter, Meri (Lari) De Bruin of Little Chute; eight grandchildren: Todd Valentyne of Kimberly, Tami (Dan) Kuether of Appleton, Tara (Dennis) De Both of Little Chute, Sherri (Mike) Gartzke of Menasha, Ben (special friend Bobbi Myhre), and Eric, Dan and Troy De Bruin of Little Chute; six great grandchildren: Taylor Valentyne, Brittany and Kaylie Kuether, Gage Leisgang, and Jeremy and Rachel Gartzke; two special nephews: Don (Millie) Weyenberg of Appleton and Tom Tucker (Kate) Weyenberg of Kimberly; four sisters-in-law: Harriet Thurner of Kimberly, Ann Valentyne of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Elaine Hietpas of Appleton, and Marie (Hermie) De Leeuw of Kimberly; two brothers-in-law: Bob (Althea) Valentyn of Kimberly and Don (Audrey) Valentyne of Winneconne; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and a special friend, Dolores Vanden Heuvel of Kimberly.
Sis was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, and three brothers: Heinie (Martha) Weyenberg, Bud (Rachel) Weyenberg and Sonny (Mae) Weyenberg.
The funeral liturgy will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2003, at HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Franciscan Care and Rehabilitation Center, Unit One, and the Staff at Appleton Medical Center on Four Southwest for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Holy Name of Jesus Cathlolic Church Endowment Fund in Sis name are appreciated.
