    • Sylvester J. "Ves" Vissers, Kaukauna, age 90, died Friday December 28, 2012 at his home. He was born in Kaukauna on July 19, 1922 to the late Martin and Delia (De Leest) Vissers. Ves married Bonita "Bonnie" Liebergen in Little Chute on February 28, 1946. She preceded him in death October 2, 2000. Ves farmed and worked and the Combined Locks Paper Mill, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He loved to tinker and could fix anything. Ves loved playing cards. His favorite was Sheepshead and he usually won. Ves also enjoyed traveling and in recent years, traveled a lot with his very special friend Cornelia.

      Sylvester is survived by his children: Wayne (Carol), Little Chute; Al, Kaukauna; Diane (Terry) Vander Linden, Green Bay; Randy (Linda), Guntersville, AL; Michael (Joe Miron), Bellevue; and Marv (Margaret), Oak Creek; grandchildren: Vicki (Eric) Spieler, Tanya Borseth, Jim (Kelly) and Melissa Vander Linden, Marie (Kevin) Soper, Brad (Katie), David, Josh, Bailey and Samuel Vissers; 10 great grandchildren; very special friend Cornelia Coenen; brother and sisters: Elmer Vissers, Marian Van Asten and Geraldine (Donald) Pennings; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Martha Van Oss, Clayton (Lois) Liebergen and Eileen (Spice) Keough. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      In addition to his parents and wife, Ves was preceded in death by his son Gary; daughter-in-law Cleo; father and mother-in-law: Henry and Elizabeth (Baeten) Liebergen; siblings and in-laws: Ella (Jake) Van Wychen, Tillie (Ervin) Welhouse, Minnie (Frank) Zwiers, Bill Van Asten, Florence (Frank) Weyers, George (Frances) Vissers, Harriet (Frank) Weyenberg, Evelyn Vissers, Jerome Van Oss, Lester Spice and John "Jack" Keough.

      Visitation will be held Monday December 31, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. Committal at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Ves' name.
