      He was born March 11, 1932, in Attica to Dona Ruth (Russell) and Howard Dennis. He grew up in the Attica-Imlay City area. He met and married Mary Jane Herrmann while living in Chicago. They were married for 44 years.
      He entered the Army at the age of 16 and took basic training and advanced individual training in tanks at Fort Knox, Ky. Afterward, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas and later served with distinction during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery under fire. After his discharge, he moved to Chicago where he worked for Montorola Electronics and the Zenith Corp., specializing in the design of printed circuit boards for use in radio and television. He lived in the Chicago area for about 25 years.
      He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Dennis of Attica; children, Ann Marie Schmidt (Steven Lyles) of Attica and Curtis (Karen) Dennis of Plymouth; granddaughters, Katherine Schmidt of Imlay City and Sara Schmidt of Plymouth; siblings, Russell Dennis of Lewiston, Jack (Ula) Dennis, Arthur (Carol) Dennis of Arlington, Texas, Roger (Edith) Dennis of Weedsport, N.Y., George (Mary Beth) Dennis of Columbiaville, Marion Allison of Metamora, Cleo DeGraw of Capac, Pearl Treager of Oak Park and Sandra Hauner of Marysville; also, three generations of nieces and nephews.
      Memorial services were Thursday (Jan. 29) with a Veterans of Foreign Wars-American Legion military salute at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.
