- William "Butts" Weber was born in Kaukauna, WI on October 19, 1929. He moved to Appleton June 12, 1956 when he married his loving wife Catherine (Katie) Wolter of 58+ years. They had four beautiful children which Butts was very proud of. He took fathering his children seriously, and he taught them a strong work ethic and deep morals not only with his words but by his actions. Butts did whatever he could to provide for his family. He was called on May 31, 2015 to take his final glory ride to the realms of heaven surrounded by his family.
Leading the way before him were his parents: Ervin & Edith Weber; siblings: Jean Hawkins-Smith, June Steinke and Jake Weber; adopted parents: Lewie & Helen McCormick; and parents-in-law: Jacob & Katherine Wolter.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren: Mary (Todd) Laflin, Ryan Laflin, Kalli (Andrew) Hippert, Ken (Mary) Weber, Miles (Sara) Weber, Martina (Ty) Maki, Bill (Maureen) Weber, Lexie (Mike) Bradley, Caitlin (Andrew) Ryan, Terri (Bob) Mauthe, Jacob, and Rachel & Alina Mauthe; great-grandchildren: Avery & Easton Maki; and soon to be born great-granddaughter Weber; sisters: Dona Frakes and Phyllis Hendricks; Godchildren: Sharon Duuck, Owen Hawkins, Don Hendricks, Jeff Wolter, and Noreen (Babe McCormick) Hughes; Katie's family: Marion DeGroot and James (Betty) Wolter; the McCormick adopted family members and many more nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Mass of Celebration will take place at 12Noon on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (222 E. Fremont St, Appleton) with Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Friends may visit at the church Saturday from 9AM until the time of service. Military honors will be performed immediately following the service by Appleton Legion Post #38 for Butts' service to his country in the U.S. Army from April 1951 to April 1953.
