Age 67, died 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 1985 following a short illness. He was born May 6, 1918 in Chilton and following World War II where he served with the U.S. Marine Corp he moved to Appleton. Mr. Berrens had been employed by the Concrete Pipe Company for 25 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Lisa and James Kraebel, Menasha; Barbara Berrens, Town of Harrison; a son, John, Menasha; four grandchildren: Mindy, Robert, Randy and Christopher Berrens; five brothers and three sisters-in-law: Robert Berrens, Manitowoc; Patrick Berrens, Eugene and Dolores Berrens, Arthur and Mary Berrens all of Chilton; Claude and Charolette Berrens, Oshkosh; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Gertrude Melchoir, Appleton; Kathryn and William Forsner, Chilton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Henry Berrens in 1976. The complete funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, 1985 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. Friends may call at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. Monday until the cortege leaves for the church. The prayer and scripture service will be 6:30 p.m. Sunday. A memorial fund is being established.
