- Lester J. Auden, age 95, of Kaukauna passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at St. Paul Elder Services. Lester was born on March 25, 1921 in the Town of Buchanan, son of the late George and Eva (Killian) Auden. He served in the US Army at Guadalcanal during World War II and was honorably discharged in December of 1945. Lester married Jean C. Micke on October 17, 1950. She preceded him in death on April 24, 1990. Lester had worked for 26 years at Giddings & Lewis in Kaukauna and later worked and retired in 1986 from Rich Products Corporation in Appleton.
Lester was known for his love of nature and gardening. He enjoyed working in his garden and sharing produce and flowers with family and friends. He was a lifetime member of 1000 Islands Environmental Center.
Lester is survived by his two daughters: Kay Auden of Omro and Sharon (Thomas Bevers) Auden of DePere; sisters-in-law: Fran Auden, Bernice Haen, Marie (Homer) Meehl, all of Kaukauna; a brother-in-law Walter (Ruth) VerHaagh of Green Bay; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his sisters: Genevieve Auden, Agnes Auden, and Romaine VerHaagh; brothers: Wilbert Auden and Norbert Auden; brothers-in-law: Eugene Haen and Norbert (Mary Ann) Micke; and a sister-in-law Sister Mary Agatha.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lester's personal physician, Dr. Paul Russo who was a patient listener. Thank you also to the nursing staff at St. Paul Elder Services and the compassionate hospice team. Most of all, thank you to the family and friends who spent time with Les over the years.
